; Don't judge a book by it's cover

"Do not judge a book by it's cover."
But if a book's cover isn't appealing,
Will you even bother picking it up?
Or give it a shot?
Would you want to read soemthing that appears dull and boring,
The content may not be like the cover, bright and colourful, maybe.
But no one would think so far.
Would you?

This phrase is already so over-rated and over-used.
What does it actually mean?
To think that beneath lies a different person,
To think that beneath the calm waters the water rapids are running,
To think here is so much inside we can't see, or at least claim not to see.
Something that can be hiding for so long,
Unrefined, undiscovered,
Can form years of hatred and anger,
Or love and compassion.
It isn't definitive, and it can swing either way.
But for one it can be a struggle,
For others it can feel hurt,
But one will feel a strong, deep emotion,
So passionate,
So cold,
Something you can't get out of.
Something that is stuck,
Waiting to be freed.
Freed into this world,
The world of hope,
The world of despair.
Only to find that it ends up abused,
Beaten,
Down.
Not what it thought it'll be like.
But things do not always go according to plan,
Things change,
People change,
You can't stay the same.
We're always improving,
Always moving forward,
What harm can i do?
More than you can ever imagine.
Do not judge a book by it's cover.
And so they say.

; According to you
I'm stupid,
I'm useless,
I can't do anything right.

; But according to him
I'm beautiful,
Incredible,
He can't get me out of his head.

; He's into me for everything I'm not,
According to you.
